Site rules

Applies to all three markets

Preferred sites

Prioritise quality over quantity. Booked sites should have strong foot traffic — roughly 50+ daily visitors — and let a fundraiser engage people without being ejected. Target ~8 sign-ups per site.

Grocery +
  • Walmart (Supercenter or grocery, all formats)
  • Smith's
  • Albertsons
  • Whole Foods
  • Sprouts
Home improvement & construction +
  • Home Depot
  • Harbor Freight
  • Any home improvement, construction, or carpet/tile centers — anything tied to building or remodeling homes (Habitat focus)
  • For Heifer: animal feed stores or Tractor Supply for good foot traffic
Discount & department +
  • Burlington
  • TJ Maxx
  • Marshalls
  • Ross
  • DD's Discount (decent areas only — Summerlin, Spring Valley, Centennial Hills, Henderson)
  • Michaels
  • Nordstrom Rack
Pharmacy & pet +
  • CVS
  • Walgreens
  • Petco
  • PetSmart
Shipping, postal & books +
  • UPS
  • FedEx
  • Post office
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Bookstores with decent traffic
Fitness & apparel +
  • EOS Fitness
  • Planet Fitness
  • Crunch Fitness
  • Men's Wearhouse
Golf & entertainment +
  • Golf courses across Vegas (new round golf — great to get into the courses)
  • Topgolf
  • Atomic Golf
  • Area15
Food & drink +
  • Mom-and-pop restaurants (want a morning site for breakfast and an evening site for the lunch/dinner rush)
  • Coffee shops (only paired with a restaurant or a spot that opens afternoons, to fill the day)
  • Ice cream spots (not drive-through)
  • Farmers markets
  • Water parks
Other +
  • Liquor stores (good area only)
  • Dispensaries (good area only)
  • Water refilling stations connected to a complex
  • Any property management that controls a plaza

Restrictions & stipulations

Hard rules for every market. Recently used sites are listed separately under Do not book.

  • No drive-through locations
  • No Lowe's — those are already covered
  • No sites booked in the last three weeks (see the Do-not-book list)
  • No Trader Joe's for Doctors Without Borders
  • Stay out of the northeast and anywhere near Nellis Air Force Base
  • Avoid the lowest-income areas — check local income before booking (ZIP guidance below)
  • In a complex, store approval alone is not enough — get property-management approval too, or security will pull the team on the day
